| These exquisite, ebony-colored lacquerware tie-backs are produced in time-honored fashion, and guaranteed to give rooms a lifetime of glamor. Here, skilled artisans apply some 10 layers of lacquer. After six months, when all the layers are fully dry, the mould is then hand-buffed with pure charcoal to luster, then hand-etched in ancient Sankrit or Pali scripts, using renditions from the holy work. |

Using an ancient Japanese technique, skilled artisans apply some 10 layers of lacquer. For the tortoise-shell effect, every second layer is a blend of clear lacquer and pure silver powder. After six months, when all the layers are fully dry, the mould is then hand-buffed with pure charcoal to produce this moire effect.
Created especially to our own design specifications, and exclusive to Passementeries. |
